Rafter & Ceiling Cleaning
There are many reasons to clean the rafters and ceiling in your facility. For aesthetic purposes, for quality reasons, such as the case in a manufacturing facility where debris for high surfaces are falling and leading to quality defects, to prep high surfaces for painting, and for safety reasons. Whatever the reason it is important to select a rafter and ceiling cleaning contractor with the experience and safety training to get the job done right.
Dust, dirt, grease, and other materials are common to find in the rafters and ceilings of many manufacturing and production facilities. The existence of these materials are a concern because they could lead to debris falling to the surface below and causing quality control problems, damaging expensive machinery, and posing a fire hazard. In fact on May 1, 2008 the United States House of Representatives passed the “Worker Protection Against Combustible Dust Explosion and Fires Act” (H.R. 5522). As described by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) H.R. 522 “compels OSHA to issue rules regulating combustible industrial dusts, like sugar dust, that can build up to hazardous levels and explode. According to bill sponsors, the agency hasn’t acted swiftly enough to compel employers to keep their workplaces free of hazardous dust levels.”
In light of this Act and the other reasons to clean the rafters and ceilings in your facility it is an important investment to consider – but it is not only manufacturing and production plants that can utilize this service. Auditoriums, Warehouses, Gymnasiums, and theaters are some of the other types of facilities that have a need for this service.
